I love this scene. Their first time going warp 5, and then in future seasons they advanced quite a bit to the point that they pretty much can maintain warp 5 for weeks.

I keep feeling like there's a line of dialogue missing here from what I remember when first watching the show. Right before it shifts to Picard saying "we're not qualified to be your judges...", i thought the alien said, "i will submit to whatever punishment you decide", or something like that... Maybe it's just my imagination or bad memory?!

The look on Khan's wife when the Reliant's shields were down and couldn't be raised again was priceless. The cargo bays on Ceti Alpha V were Khan and his people had to live in must've gotten really crowded after Khan and his people had the Reliant's crew marooned there instead of killing them all, except for Commander Pavel Chekhov & Captain Clark Terrell, whom Khan made as his slaves to help him escape permanent exile.

They only did minor damage to Voyager; just enough to stop it being used. Weapons taken off line, warp core taken offline,a few minor dents in the hull. Paris and the Talaxians were then able to buzz the Kazon using shuttle craft and fire on them before beaming the Talaxian boarding party onboard to overpower the survivors of the electrical overload and retake Voyager. Janeway and the crew were stranded on a planet were relieved when Paris returned with a damaged Voyager. The ship could be repaired fairly quickly. The only fatalities were the Kazon,Seska and Mr Suda, who gave his life to save the crew .

If Starfleet HQ ever celebrated Halloween, Admiral Kirk would certainly dress as a U.S. Navy Admiral at the Halloween party.

Spock showed nerve to stand with his Enterprise shipmates at their court-martial because Spock got them into this mess, though Spock was innocent of their crimes. Even if Admiral Morrow had attended the court-martial of Kirk and his crew, would he have offered his condolences to Krik for the loss of his son, David, to the Klingons when David risked his life to save Spock & Saavik on Genesis before that planet destroyed itself because the Genesis experiment was a failure?

A surprise that the Kling Ambassador didn't order his men in the Federation Council Chamber to kill the President of the United Federation of Planets after he heard that the Klingons destroyed the U.S.S. Grissom & everyone aboard her and then killed Admiral Kirk's son, David Marcus, while trying to get the secrets of Gensis for their own gain. If Captain Styles, the original commanding officer of the U.S.S. Excelsior had been in that chamber, would he feel sorry after hearing the Grissom was destroyed and Kirk's son killed? Would he have given his condolences to Kirk despite that Kirk and his crew stopped him from chasing them to Genesis if they had to after the old, battered Enterprise was stolen by Kirn and his crew to go save Spock and Saavik?

The one glaring problem with this episode is it never explains where Tuvok and the rest of the Federation telepaths were. Wouldn’t they have been arrested too?

For a supposed supergenius Khan does a number of phenomonally stupid things--- threatening McCoy, being obviously evasive, giving a portion of his real name, that 'cooperative' crack. Any one of which should have landed him in a cell, if not under security watch long b4 he knows anything if not for plot armor making Kirk dumb

I'm pretty sure starfleet has an army of therapists that handle victims of space and time displacement, mutilation by alien life-forms, mental instability by telepathic aliens, phobias caused by space and aliens, or even mental scaring as a result of a malfunctioning holo-suite.

It would be easy to say T'Pol is right. And actually? She is. But what would we do if the fate of billions of our people were at stake? What if it was Vulcan? Or Andoria? Or Tellar Prime? Would we be able to say we could condemn billions of innocent lives because we had an opportunity to turn the tide around and didn't because we took the high ground? I know it's just one small crew of an alien ship. And perhaps if there had been time, perhaps they could have bargained for the warp core in a way that would at least give the alien crew a reason that this action was necessary and that a beneficial result would be shared by their people and the Earth. But there wasn't time. And often, when the dark path is chosen, the way back becomes dimmer and dimmer until it is only a memory. This is an action Jonathan Archer would have to live with. Did it make him dark? No, but hopefully he could find a way to earn the forgiveness of the species that he heisted the warp core from. It may not have helped the crew of that ship, but it could go a long way to earning redemption from ones sins.
